JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Operations Assistant 

Responsible to: The Board of Directors

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Start Date: June 24, 2024 – August 23, 2024

 

Purpose of the Position: to provide overall operational support to a growing organization supporting gentlemen seeking apparel for the purpose of preparing for an interview, new employment, or changes in their work life. The primary focus of this summer student program is general administration in operations. This role will provide all-round experience in running a not-for-profit organization.

Ideal Candidate: a person seeking an opportunity to support and learn the operating aspects of a not-for-profit organization. A well-rounded person with a Can-Do attitude that will work with a group of experienced individuals with compassion and a desire to take this to the next level. A focus on awareness of the organization and general admin support is key in this role.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and implementation of Social Media content, Communications and a Marketing Plan.

  • Promote awareness and assist with fundraising activities.

  • Assist in arranging suiting times and coordinating volunteers.

  • Participate in the suiting of clients with another representative.

  • Assist with and support summer events such as sidewalk sales.

  • Research and prepare guidelines and materials for relevant workshops. A workshop could be resume writing, interviewing techniques, how to make a good impression.

  • Administrative support: form preparation, documentation, follow-up

  • Coordinate photos, storylines, and ‘Did Well’ stories, that could support future fund-raising activities

  • Assist with organization, ‘tagging’, and sorting of shop attire

  • Assist with a survey process of previous clients

  • Assisting with the onboarding of volunteers

 

Qualifications:

  • A positive background check.

  • Organized, punctual and outgoing.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Experience including but not necessary: retail, marketing, or hospitality.

  • Possess a non-judgemental attitude.

  • A compassionate manner when assisting those seeking support.

Compensation, Scheduling, Confidentiality:

  • Comply with the Canada Summer Jobs program agreement.

  • Confidentiality: A Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality document will be required.

  • Hours of work: 30 hours per week for 9 weeks.  Schedule Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday to assist with events.

  • Rate of Pay: $20 per hour.
